GAZZAN - Extinction (Tape) self released 2016

To little Clevo content here anyway: since the US postage prices are killing it at the moment (and then even DIY labels make their customers paying through the nose1), I have to go digital sometimes now.
Gazzan features the Melnicks, Blaze and even Rob Orr and their demo includes all Clevo parts you expect adding a modern progressive metal touch you usually expect from Relapse Records and the like. Sometimes I need to get used to the vocals, but overall it's great. I am falling for those guitar solos until the end of days!

THE MEN OF HELL aka ZORN - the return of the gods (LP) Maximum Voice Production #666 1998

I will post one of the simple black and white posters that got Zorn blacklisted and banned from clubs later, before: their last sign of life. And it blew me away.
They already changed their name and just the vinyl etching states: "The Men Of Hell aka Zorn". 6 killer tracks in about 26 minutes and the best they have done - driven and mean.

All the people who shit talked about Zorn them being metal heads etc. since their beginning got their possibility to set themselves up now. Brilliant!

This was also released on CD and one of the last things Maximum Voice did; there were some stories about the label being a rip off (the vinyl etchings for the Maximum Voice releases already stated "rip off #[..]" as catalogue numbers before, maybe as a reaction towards the accusations), which is funny since I can remember some mailorder lists by the owner who blamed other distributions etc. for not paying him etc.. But I am not into this shit, although a band I really love was affected. Within the world of hardcore and punk you'll find the same business tactics like everywhere.

SKINK - violence (7") Gasoline Boost #02 1992

Okay another Gasoline Boost posting - please check out all their other releases! Maybe some of the readers here like Godflesh/ Final, Pitchshifter and Fudge Tunnel, because here are some mates (do not mistake them for the UK electronica artist) of Fudge Tunnel ( also produced by Alex Newport (in Nailbomb at that time, or?) and they were also on tour with them). They are a bit heavier than Fudge Tunnel but have this Chicago/ Noise Rock influence; maybe like a missing link between them, Helmet and early Godflesh1. The front cover just fits.

I have an additional copy, if you want to trade it for the 7" afterwards or the CD, please let me know. I am still in need of the other Single! Drop me a line, dude!

DYSTOPIA - live Bunker Nimmerland, Friedrichshafen, Germany 05-23-1997 & tour poster

Here is the European tour poster with a nice Queen rip off, some years before the Locust record came out. The posters came out of the print shop when the tour was already done - nice timing -, so I am quite sure, that not too many have seen it yet.

Dystopia are among my all time favourites and - for me - one of the best things ever coming out of hardcore and punk, and although I do not like the idea of being a fan: I am a huge Dystopia fan. They played live at our local youth club together with Präparation-H, Hifi-Killers and Painted Thin, due to four bands playing at the evening, Dystopia started about 3 o' clock in the morning, but it was one of the greatest concerts I attended, which I am going to share here with you since many Bunker Nimmerland shows were recorded onto mini disc directly from the soundboard.
I thought about doing a official tape with this show some years ago and Mauz also agreed on doing so since it should have been a benefit for an activist who got caught during hunting sabotage. After familial problems, me moving 700 miles away and the recipient of the intended benefit turned out being a total asshole the tape never saw the light of day. 2 years ago Pat from Useless Recordings and me thought about doing it again, me writing Mauz again (after I "found" him at Myspace), but Pat and me never pulled our lazy asses together. At least I managed to do a digital version now. The Präparation-H1 show was recorded too and after I sent Dan a digital copy some weeks ago they decided to release it as an official CD! So keep your eyes open for this release and grab some of the last copies of the latest 3" CD by them.

BLOODSPORT - "Massmurder on every scale" demo (CD-R) Repel Records 1998

This is my first Repel Records posting, a small label and fanzine from the Ruhrpott area done by the second and notorious singer of Spawn and later True Blue (very much loved by the political correct ones.... hahahaha). He is currently doing Reaper Records. Anyway Repel was releasing some fine demos in the last century and I am starting with this one since I just pulled it out for a friend; all other demos I own will follow: True Blue, Damage i.d., Buried Alive and the great Iron Skull. I am still missing some stuff which is supposed to be on Repel: Despair live tape, a compilation tape called "return to heaven" and a Born From Pain demo. Maybe someone can help me out or will even contribute them here.

Back to Bloodsport: I think, they started with a drum computer like Rancor did, but added the former Invidia drummer soon (I have their demo tape but I am missing the cover; anyone?) to record this demo. Beside Invidia the band members used to be in Feeding The Fire (maybe the most famous red edge band beside Profound/ ManLiftingBanner), Backdraft, Rancor (I found a homepage... they are back together?!) and Invidia.
We played with them some gigs as a replacement for Brother' s Justice who got robbed and lost nearly all their equipment and merchandise on tour - that was together with Length Of Time. Bloodsport were what you might call a live band. I don' t know how their later album for GSR was, but the demo is just a bit behind their brutal live performance: what the audience was doing while watching Length Of Time was done by Bloodsport on stage before.

What I loved about Bloodsport around this time was that they orientated themselves way more towards the originally 8oies metal bands than most of the bands from Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany were doing back then ( maybe besides Liar): less moshcore more metal. Just listen to "sauron". I really love the dry drum sound; not like all those overproduced things nowadays.

The demo was later rereleased as tape by Spill The Blood records (S.T.B. #05), which is the most known version and you might often find it in trade lists etc. This is the cover (I included the whole scan in the zip file):



As you might know: some members went on to play in Born From Pain. But this is a different story.
